Changing the Contents or Display Position of Alternatives

You can select to display either predictive text alternatives or spelling correction alternatives as converted alternatives, or not to display any converted alternatives in convert mode or keyboard mode. You can also change the display position of converted alternatives.

1. On the editor screen, tap .
2. Tap Settings.
3. On the settings screen, tap Style in Alternatives Display, and select the type of converted alternatives you want to display.

   Merged^*1

   Both predictive text alternatives and spelling correction alternatives are displayed.

   Predictive Text Only^*1

   Only predictive text alternatives are displayed.

   Spelling Correction Only

   Only spelling correction alternatives are displayed.

   None

   No converted alternatives are displayed.

   *1 According to the recognition result, alternatives where all letters are in lowercase, all letters are in uppercase, and only initials are in uppercase are also displayed.

4. In Position, select the position for displaying alternatives.
   Tap Handwriting to change the display position for the convert mode, and tap Keyboard to change the display position for the keyboard mode.

   Cursor Position

   Alternatives are displayed near the insertion point.

   Handwriting Area

   Alternatives are displayed in the upper part of the convert mode screen or onscreen keyboard.

5. On the settings screen, tap Menu > Back.
